The Warriors welcomed the Bethel Park Blackhawks on Wednesday night after a stretch of competitive away games. Despite falling short on the draw circle, the girls were able to force turnovers and apply defensive pressure to get the ball in the offensive zone. The first quarter of the game ended in a 5-1 lead with goals scored by Annabelle Aquino (1), Ayla Moffa (2), and Georgia Vislocky (2). Vislocky scored her 100th career goal at the end of the first.
The Warriors added four more goals to the score board in the second quarter. Adalyn Hawk assisted fellow midfielder Annabelle Aquino on her second goal of the night. Hawk had another assist to Ayla Moffa on the field for her second goal of the quarter. Ayla Moffa earned a free position goal followed up by another free position goal from Annabelle Aquino right at the end of the buzzer. The Warriors were up 9-4 at the half.
The Warriors defensive unit (Botti, Brobst, Doughty, and Spadone) held Bethel Park to zero goals in the third quarter. Thanks to the strong defensive skills, the Warriors offense was able to add four more goals to the night’s total. Moffa (1), Vislocky (1), Aquino (1), and Abby Baughman (1).
Goaltender, Madison Hagan, has had two standout performances in the last two games against Bethel Park and Peters Township. Hagan’s quick reaction has led to multiple successful clears and some clutch saves that have helped her team. The Warriors travel to South Fayette Friday night for a highly anticipated game!
