Wednesday night marked the last section matchup for the Warriors' 24-25 season. The girls faced off against Cannon-Mac at home under the lights. Annabelle Aquino was the first player to get on the scoreboard for the night. Georgia Vislocky and Ayla Moffa each added to the team's total. Madi Gavrish earned an assist after finding Megan Kamzalow in the front of the net. Annabelle Aquino returned the favor to Gavrish as she assisted her on the final goal of the quarter. The defensive unit (Botti, Brobst, Spadone, and Williams) along with help from the midfield line (Aquino, Hawk, and Moffa) held the Big Macs to zero goals in the first quarter. Goaltender, Madison Hagan, fought off multiple shots from the Big Macs.
Canon-Mac made some adjustments on the field and were able to find the net four times in the second quarter. G. Vislocky scored off of a free position along with two more for Aquino for the night with one being assisted by Moffa. The Warriors ended the half with an 8-4 lead over the Big Macs.
The intensity of the game ramped up in the second half as the Big Macs were looking to defeat the Warriors, but the Warriors weren't having it. Vislocky scored off of another free position call at the start of the third. Adalyn Hawk scored her first goal of the night in a high speed goal from behind the cage. The Defensive unit (Botti, Brobst, Spadone, and Williams) denied the Big Macs and only allowed them to squeak in two goals ending the third quarter with a Warrior lead of 11-6.
The last quarter of the night marked an impressive defensive performance. The Warrior-D shut down the Big Macs and held them to another quarter with zero goals scored. The final goals of the night were scored by Vislocky (1), Baughman (1), Hawk (1), and Moffa (2). The final score of the night was a 16-6 which secured a playoff spot for the Warriors. Stay tuned!
