The Warriors entered the Lions Gate Friday night in a highly anticipated matchup against the South Fayette Lions. The first quarter was a back and forth battle against the teams. The Warriors had the first two goals of the night. Annabelle Aquino assisted Ayla Moffa for the first goal followed by a goal from senior, Megan Kamzalow. After a quick timeout from the Lions, they came out and scored two goals. The Warriors answered back with the third goal of the quarter from Ayla Moffa. Warriors were up 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.

South Fayette took the lead in the second quarter after putting up three goals. Ayla Moffa scored her second goal of the night right at the buzzer leaving the score at the half 5-4 with the Lions in the lead.

The defense held the Lions to two goals in the third quarter. Cece Doughty helped her team by forcing the Lions to turn the ball over while Gianna Botti, Adalyn Hawk, Mary Brobst, and Maura Spadone helped protect the cage having a strong physical presence and  communicating as a unit. Mary Brobst worked well with goaltender, Madison, Hagan, on clearing the ball into the offensive zone. Ayla Moffa was able to sneak one in bringing the score to 7-5 at the end of the third.

The girls pushed through the fourth quarter and gave it everything they got to try and get the win. The defensive line (Botti, Brobst, Doughty, and Spadone) along with Hawk and Aquino worked hard to hold the Lions in the last quarter of the night. Goaltender, Madison Hagan, fiercely protected the net against the Lions with eight impressive saves and multiple successful clears. Georgia Vislocky scored two goals in the final quarter ending the game with a 9-7 loss. The girls take on Hempfield Monday night at home.
