The Warriors reigned in the Plum Mustangs tonight on home turf as they earned a huge win against last year’s section champs. In the first half of the game, the Warriors defense shut down the Mustangs and held them to zero goals while the offense took to the net and scored 3 (Georgia Vislocky (2) and Lily Crenshaw (1) assisted by Sophia Green.) Goaltender, Madison Hagan gave a stellar performance, making 7 saves and was patient and efficient with her clearing game. The defense, (Cecilia (Ceci) Doughty, Mary Brobst, Maura Spadone and Gianna Botti) rose to the challenge by shutting down Plum’s high powered offense and played brilliantly in the transition game.
In the second half, the girls changed their focus and exploded on the offensive side of the field, going on a 4 goal run in the third quarter, leaving the score 7-1 (Sophia Green (3) two of them being assisted by Adalyn Hawk and Lily Crenshaw, and Avery (Aves) Bosack (1.) The fourth quarter was more of the same dominating team effort with 4 more goals scored by Georgia Vislocky (1), Sophia Green (1), Annabelle Aquino (1) and Avery (Aves) Bosack (1), assisted by Ayla Moffa. Special shoutout to our midfielders, Annabelle Aquino, Ayla Moffa, and Adalyn Hawk for locking down Plum’s high scoring midfield unit. Tonight’s win was a total team effort with each player filling their role. The Warriors stormed the field to celebrate their victory with a final score of 11-3.
The girls travel to Hampton on Monday, 4/15 for another big section matchup with JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 6:45.
