Warriors clinch playoff spot in 35-14 win

Penn-Trafford clinched a spot in the WPIAL playoffs with a 35-14 win at Armstrong.
Dom Smith had a big day at receiver, catching 3 passes for 172 yards including a 77 yard TD catch from Derek Carr. Tasso Whipple scored 2 touchdowns on the ground and ended with 76 yards rushing. Nick Ponko caught a jump ball TD in the end zone as time expired in the first half to give the Warriors a 35-0 halftime lead. Carr also added a rushing TD. Jack Miller kicked 4 extra points while Alexis Brown added another.
Senior Jonny Lovre threw for 159 yards on six completions. He went over the 1,000 passing yard mark on the season.
Jamison Yurt led the defense with 8 tackles. Tyler Boss had a big interception with a 39 yard return. Kellan Taylor had 5 tackles and a sack.
Next Friday PT closes out the regular season with a road game at Latrobe. Kickoff at 7pm.
