Warriors lose to Woodland Hills in Conference Opener

The Penn-Trafford Warriors lost their 2024 Big East Conference opener to Woodland Hills, 35-21. Derek Carr had a 10 yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7 in the first quarter. Senior Jack Weishaar caught a pair of touchdown passes from Jonny Lovre in the final quarter from 9 and 10 yards. Logan Hunter went 3 for 3 in extra points. Tasso Whipple was the leading rusher with 15 carries for 93 yards. Lovre finished with 20 for 34 passing for 243 yards. A total of nine different Warriors caught passes from Lovre. Whipple had the most with 5 receptions for 66 yards while Weishaar also had 5 catches for 56 yards. Defensively Carr forced a fumble and recovered the ball. Jamison Yurt led the team with 9 tackles while Whipple had 7. Jacob Briggs had a big 29 yard catch and also had a sack and 6 tackles. Penn-Trafford goes on the road next week to face the Kiski Area Cavaliers in another Big East Conference game.
