Warriors defeat Moon Area 14-7 on Hall of Fame night

The Warriors defeated the Moon Area Tigers 14-7 in a close non-conference matchup at Warrior Stadium. Penn-Trafford scored first on a Jonny Lovre to Jessie Lisbon 40 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. In the third, senior Tasso Whipple broke free on a long 73 yard run to give PT a 14-0 lead. Moon responded with a touchdown pass of 27 yards from Andrew Cross to Paul Bronaugh. The Warrior defense was the difference in the game, forcing 4 Moon turnovers with 2 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.
The Warriors had a pair of 100 yard rushers in Whipple (161) and Derek Carr (101). Jonny Lovre was 9 of 17 passing for 114 yards and a touchdown pass. Dom Smith, who's late fourth quarter interception proved to be huge, led PT in receiving with 3 receptions for 23 yards. Whipple also led Penn-Trafford on defense with 7 tackles and a forced fumble. Jack Weishaar had an interception in the end zone for PT.
Next week the Warriors host conference foe Woodland Hills. Kickoff is 7:30pm.
