Warriors News · Spring Sports/Spectator Guidelines UPDATED Addendum to Health and Safety Plan April 4, 2021

Athletic Directors, Coaches and Spectators,

The below information is in reference to middle school, junior high, junior varsity, and varsity events at Penn-Trafford High School for the Spring 2021 season.

General Guidance

PTHS teams conduct daily screenings for COVID-19. All visiting teams must do their screenings prior to leaving for your contest at PTHS. Upon arrival at PTHS, we will be asking the visiting head coach to provide a COVID-19 certification form signifying that everyone has been checked prior to boarding the bus to PTHS.  Attached is our certification form, but you are free to use your school-specific certification form if you have one.

Penn-Trafford requires all coaches, students and adult personnel, and spectators to wear face coverings indoors and outdoors. Student-athletes and officials must wear face coverings at all times except when actively engaged in pregame and competition due to safety concerns with wearing a mask. Student-athletes on the bench/dugout/sidelines must wear a face covering until they enter the competition.

Water jugs will not be provided by PTHS this season. All teams and players should bring enough water to adequately hydrate them for the duration of the contest. If you plan to bring a cooler, please bring it pre-filled.

Locker rooms will not be available this spring. Visiting teams should come to PTHS in uniform.

Penn-Trafford will have an athletic trainer available for all contests (except Club Lacrosse games). However, to limit contact, we ask that all of your student-athletes arrive to the contest already taped. Ice will only be available for injuries and emergencies.

Spectator Information

Boys Volleyball:  Home contests will be limited to 200 spectators.  PT athletes will get two (2) comp tickets per student athlete.  All others will be charged $5.00 at the door.  Masks must be worn at all times.

Baseball (Varsity, JV, Jr Hi):  At this time there are no limitations on spectators.  However, spectators should social distance, wear face coverings and are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.  Signs will be posted for spectator seating and we ask that spectators adhere to our protocols.

Softball (Varsity, JV, MS):  At this time there are no limitations on spectators.  However, spectators should social distance, wear face coverings and are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.  Signs will be posted for spectator seating and we ask that spectators adhere to our protocols.

Boys and Girls Lacrosse (Varsity/JV):  Home contests will have no spectator limitations.  At this time, given current occupancy capacity limits, it is not anticipated that crowds will exceed our allowable numbers.  Spectators should social distance, and wear face coverings at all times in the Stadium.  Everyone must sit on the press box side.

Boys Tennis (Varsity/JV):  Home contests will have no spectator limitations.  At this time, given current occupancy capacity limits, it is not anticipated that crowds will exceed our allowable numbers.  However, spectators should social distance, wear face coverings and are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.  It is important for spectators to sit in an area away from the teams preferably up on the hillside along the parking lot.

Boys and Girls Track & Field (Varsity/MS):  Home contests will have no spectator limitations.  At this time, given current occupancy capacity limits, it is not anticipated that crowds will exceed our allowable numbers.  However, spectators should social distance, and wear face coverings.   ALL spectators MUST sit in the bleachers on the pressbox side of the stadium.  Spectators are NOT to be standing along the fences.  At the throwing events, spectators should stand along the guardrails or along the far side of the field away from the athletes.  For jumping and pole vault spectators should stand along the fence.

In an effort to keep the guidelines in place, we are asking all spectators respectfully adhere to the rules.  Failure to do so may require stricter guidelines and individual removal from viewing the contest.  We will update accordingly if the guidance from the PA Department of Health changes.

NFHS Live Streaming information is available for Boys Volleyball games, Boys and Girls Lacrosse games, and Boys and Girls Track meets (track events only).  More information on how to access the NFHS Live Stream is available at www.ptwarriors.org
